Spring forsaken by the passage of Earth
More turns of the terrestrial axis
Shadows that were, are lessened
The day is objectively longer —
subjectively brighter this summer

I feel carried in the shadow that remains
like broken pieces wrapped within a neat package
stuffed in a plane still shaking after a storm

Much of what I want to say
gleams out of reach
like the silvery mirage floating
on a road baked by the summer sun

Maybe my role is to listen
Meditate in a room of silence
Hear the beating of my heavy chest
Its voice clear at last
