Light

A poem I wrote several months ago one morning.

Nourished by dreams,

Seeds of a new day

Planted the night before

Sprouts forth green hope,

Basked in emerging natural light

If the light is too strong

It’ll perish in the heat

If the light is too weak

It’ll perish from lack of energy

A delicate balance of the element like

between weight of responsibility and

power of meaning

to evoke a life well-lived

Too much it’ll be crushed in stress

Too little it’ll die from vapid existence

A life well-lived carries many days

A day well-lived carries many moments

How intense is the light at each moment?
