In the unbroken wilderness of the jungles of my mind
Lay monsters hiding in underground holes that reside
Fear, resentment and loneliness if I must give them human labels
These nightmarish creatures too real to be merely fables
They pounce and feast upon my psyche when I feel most alone
When I feel my mind splitting and my heart breaking
The harder I run the harder they pursue
Perhaps I’ve to confront my emotional stew
I’m tired of pieces of me placed in their shopping cart
May a light be shined on these dark corners of my heart
