Winter Breeze

A poem I wrote when I was in a slump a few years ago. Not the way I feel these days but I still think it’s a mood to capture and remember.

There lies crumpled the fallen rose

Taken clutched in the winter breeze

Here lies I on this tainted snow

As past memories swirl and flow

Painful regrets and present pains

I want a reprieve for life so brief

The wind passes at winter’s pace

And life passes as mortals race
